NeNe Leakes has opened up about her life since the death of her husband, Gregg Leakes. In a recent livestream, she shared heartfelt thoughts on their marriage and Gregg’s influence on her life.
The reality TV icon recently spoke out about the pain and reality of life without her beloved husband, Gregg Leakes.
Gregg lost his life to stage 3 colon cancer in 2021. The couple first married in 1997, divorced in 2011, and remarried two years later.
NeNe revealed a more vulnerable side as she reminisced about her late husband while reflecting on their marriage.
In response to a fan who wrote, “I know you miss Gregg,” she told viewers, “You guys have no idea like I miss Gregg so much.”
“Like, I didn’t even half the time realize how valuable Gregg was to my life or to us until he was gone,” NeNe admitted to her followers, her eyes welling up with emotion.
Nene Leakes revealed that she often wants to consult with Gregg on various matters, only to be reminded of his passing. “There are so many times when I want to be like, ‘Oh, Gregg would like that,'” she shared. Then I have to remind myself that Gregg is not here.”
She pointed out Gregg’s importance as her strongest supporter and guiding force, in addition to his role as her husband. “He did so much to propel my career and to support me,” she told me. “It is difficult for anyone to walk in his shoes. Gregg resembles that guy—truly.”
Despite her grief, NeNe has continued to honor Gregg’s memory, frequently sharing moments of reflection and gratitude for their time together.
“Gregg was more than just a husband. He was my partner in every sense of the word,” NeNe disclosed to her fans. “I was lucky and blessed by God to have such a great husband for so many years.”
Gregg’s passing left a void in NeNe’s life. From their early days navigating fame to their on-again, off-again relationship and eventual remarriage in 2013, their love story was one to remember.
