“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams and “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star Yandy Williams were amongst the dozens of people who were arrested in Lousiville while protesting in support of Breonna Taylor.
The ladies were protesting outside the home of Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s at the time of their arrest.
“We’re in Louisville and our bottom line is there MUST be JUSTICE for #BreonnaTaylor,” Williams captioned a post on Instagram hours before she was detained.
At least 87 people charged at the demonstration Tuesday.
LMPD Sgt. Lamont Washington confirmed announced that each individual arrested at the protest was charged with intimidating a participant in a legal process, a class D felony, and criminal trespass. Several were also were charged with disorderly conduct.
“From the beginning, our office has set out to do its job, to fully investigate the events surrounding the death of Ms. Breonna Taylor,” Cameron said following the arrests.
“We continue with a thorough and fair investigation, and today’s events will not alter our pursuit of the truth. The stated goal of today’s protest at my home was to ‘escalate.’ That is not acceptable and only serves to further division and tension within our community. Justice is not achieved by trespassing on private property, and it’s not achieved through escalation. It’s achieved by examining the facts in an impartial and unbiased manner. That is exactly what we are doing and will continue to do in this investigation.”
Williams has since been released from Louisville Metro Corrections. She posted a picture of her standing alongside Breonna Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer.
“It was my pleasure! I love you and as always praying for you Ms. Tamika Palmer (Mother of Breonna Taylor) P.S. Thank you for waiting on us to get out! It was heartwarming exiting and seeing your family,” the post’s caption reads. “Daniel Cameron Arrest the cops! Do the Right Thing.”
