ScarLip has taken to social media to accuse M&T Bank of racial profiling during a recent visit to one of their branches. In an IG Live video, ScarLip detailed the incident, claiming that she was not allowed to transfer her money.
Scar Lip has called out M&T Bank, accusing an employee of racism and profiling her from the moment she walked into the building.
On Thursday (August 29), the Bronx–bred rising star didn’t hold back during her Instagram Live session. She described how she was treated unfairly and questioned why she was under such scrutiny.
“Yo, M&T bank is racist as fuck,” she began. “Why, when I go to this M&T bank, I’m being profiled on some weird shit.
Scar Lip explained that despite providing her address, identification, and social security card, the bank teller refused to make the transfer. Apparently, the employee told the “This Is New York” hitmaker that she wasn’t “comfortable” making the transaction.
“I proved everything, so why you not tryna let me make a transfer?” the Epic Records signee asked.
“What the fck you mean you don’t feel comfortable?” Scar raged. “Btch, gimme my money. Now, because you don’t feel comfortable, I’m taking my money out of this bank and going to another bank. Because y’all not about to be treating me all type of weird.”
Scar explained that the transfer was for “a business thing,” but the teller responded, “I need more information than that. That is not good enough.”
Furthermore, the “She’s Hot” rapper claimed the bank employee threatened to call the cops. She asked, “What are they going to do? You going to call the cops on me for trying to make a transfer? B*tch, I am a business. I own a business.”
Finally, she believes she was judging me from the moment she walked into the bank and threatened to sue if the bank did not provide an explanation.
“M&T, y’all better talk to me for real before I sue y’all,” she warned. “It’s one or the other ways; I’m suing y’all, or y’all gone give me a muthafckin explanation on why I’m being profiled tryna get my muthafckin money out the bank.”
