Singer and Celebrity Traitors finalist Cat Burns has announced she underwent breast reduction surgery, after years of struggle.

She made the revelation along with a powerful message about body image and chronic pain while celebrating the “start of my new life.”

The 25-year-old London artist posted the news via her Instagram story from her hospital bed, detailing years of physical and emotional struggle that led to her decision to reduce her breast size.

“I’ve always struggled with my boobies since they arrived on my chest at like 12,” Burns wrote. “They caused me so much pain when exercising and I deeply hated the oversexualisation it brought.” She described trying various bras and coping methods, but ultimately decided to pursue surgery while “young and healthy.”

The procedure, she confirmed, went “really well.” After seeing her mother, sister, and girlfriend post-op, she “had a big fat cry” from relief.

“The amount of relief and happiness I’m feeling is overwhelming,” she shared, adding, “Today marks the start of my new life!”

Burns said breast reduction surgery was a proactive step toward self-acceptance.

“I thought while I’m young… I want to love my body going into the next part of my life,” she explained, offering implicit advice to others considering similar medical steps: prioritize your long-term comfort and well-being.

The announcement comes just months after the release of her acclaimed second album, How To Be Human, which peaked at number five in October, and her stint as a finalist on the BBC’s Celebrity Traitors.
