SZA is proving to be an unstoppable force in 2025, making history as the first artist this year to simultaneously hold the No. 1 spot across albums, movies, and songs.

The R&B sensation’s dominance spans music and film, solidifying her as a powerhouse in entertainment.

Her latest album, Lana (SOS Deluxe), claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart dated Jan. 4, 2025. Shortly after, her highly anticipated film One of Them Days, co-starring Keke Palmer, debuted at No. 1 at the box office during its opening weekend.

Now, SZA has achieved a rare trifecta with her feature on Kendrick Lamar’s Luther, which has climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the chart dated March 1, 2025.

The success of Luther marks Kendrick Lamar’s sixth No. 1 hit and SZA’s third. The track, which pays tribute to R&B icon Luther Vandross and includes a sample from the late legend, dethroned Lamar’s own Not Like Us at the top spot. Both songs gained additional momentum following Lamar’s electrifying Super Bowl LIX halftime performance, where he and SZA performed Luther as part of an 11-song setlist.

SZA’s historic achievement cements her as one of the most influential artists of the year. Her ability to seamlessly transition between music and film while continuing to break records highlights her unparalleled impact on pop culture.

Meanwhile, Drake continues to extend his own record-breaking streak, debuting two tracks in the Hot 100’s top 10. Gimme a Hug landed at No. 6, while Nokia entered at No. 10.

Both songs, from his collaborative album with PartyNextDoor, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, contributed to Drake’s career total of 80 Hot 100 top 10s—the most in the chart’s 66-year history. The album also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, earning Drake his 14th No. 1 album, tying the record for most among solo artists.

With SZA at the forefront of multiple entertainment sectors and Kendrick Lamar and Drake continuing to make waves, 2025 is shaping up to be a defining year for music and culture.
