She says she NEVER gave Badgal RiRi the song!

SZA dropped a bombshell in a new interview segment about how ” Consideration” ended up on Rihanna‘s last studio album, ANTI, in 2016.

The 34-year-old “Kill Bill” hitmaker shared her frustration with how the song ended on Riri’s historic chart-topping album.

During an interview segment with Variety, SZA spilled her reluctance to hand over the song to Rihanna.

Despite it being a huge success, she explained that she was initially “frustrated” about giving up her song.

Rihanna reportedly invited multiple talented singers and songwriters to a house in Malibu to write music for her album, ANTI.

Apparently, SZA was one of the chosen, and somehow, her star song was taken from her by Riri’s label.

“I cared so much, and I was so like just frustrated. I felt like I’d never have anything this cool again.’ And that was so crazy and so wrong because it was like the centerpiece to my album at the time, and for her, it was just like part of her album, and I was like, ‘Please no’,” SZA admitted.

She continued to detail how she had big plans for her song. And how all her hard work seemed to have just gone down the drain.

“I had just shot a video for it. And I was about to drop it in a couple of days. It was already done. Whatever conversation label-wise was already done. It was just a matter of accepting. And in hindsight, it was so hard to let go and accept.”

The new Queen of R&B also spoke on how, after reflecting on the traumatic experience, she’s not sad about it anymore.

“In hindsight, it was so hard to accept. But now, I’m like so glad that that happened. It didn’t cost me anything. If anything, I gained a bunch from it.”

As one would expect, SZA has found so much more success since “Consideration” landed on ANTI. She was even one of the most nominated at the 2024 Grammys.
