Tamera Mowry’s hair salon visit has Black Twitter in an absolute frenzy, sparking a major debate about who should be touching Black curls!

A simple trip to get her natural hair styled has turned into a trending topic, proving that even seemingly innocent beauty choices can stir up a whole lot of opinions.

Tamera Mowry, known for her beautiful natural hair, recently shared a before-and-after salon experience. In the “before” shot, her dark, natural curls were well-defined but had a more relaxed, perhaps lived-in feel, suggesting they were due for some shaping and a fresh look. However, the “after” reveal showed that her curls were noticeably more defined and vibrant, boasting increased volume and bounce. The shape was more polished and structured, clearly benefiting from a professional cut and styling that enhanced her natural pattern. She looked pleased, and her hair radiated freshness and meticulous care. The enhanced definition, volume, and refined shape were undeniable.

But Black Twitter? They saw it differently. And they had a lot to say. The comment sections lit up with critiques. “She should have gone to cécred salon,” one person declared. Another chimed in with, “I already knew what it was from the type of salon she was in and the color of the hand she had in her head.”

“Why is her hairstylist a white man? She needs a black woman for that kinda hair,” a frustrated user commented. Another took it even further, stating, “She really is clueless as f***… Letting white people handle your black a** curls is crazy”. Some even claimed she wasted her money: “She literally paid for them to leave her hair exactly how they found it, lmao” and “I knew she was playing in our faces once I saw the color of the hairstylist’s hands.”

However, not everyone was on the attack. Some users defended Tamera, offering a different perspective on her salon choice. “A simple look at her IG stories would tell you that she didn’t go for the styling. She went so they could dye her grays,” one person pointed out. Another person echoed this, adding, “Do you see how she’s only dying her roots? Probably for grey coverage or a certain treatment, lol. It’s going to look the same, and tbh, while you can do this at home, many of us love getting our hair done/washed by someone other than ourselves, even if it’s just simple”.

Amidst the heated debate, some people were simply confused by the intensity of the backlash. “I don’t understand why everyone is so mean to Tamera. Like, what did she ever do??” one user wondered.

While the conversation around who is best equipped to care for Black hair is incredibly important and valid, Tamera’s simple salon visit has certainly sparked a very public and, at times, harsh dialogue. What are your thoughts on this viral hair saga?
