Taraji P. Henson has signed a first-look deal with 20th Century Fox TV — and will be bringing us a brand new “Empire” spin-off show.

According to Deadline, the series spin-off centers on Henson’s beloved character, Cookie Lyon, and will be written and executive produced Danny by Strong, Stacy A. Littlejohn and Yolonda Lawrence.

Strong co-created the original series with Lee Daniels, but Daniels has not been named as part of the crew lineup for the upcoming project.

“I believe that normalizing stories around stigmatizing matters will make them more palatable for audiences to embrace,” Henson said via the outlet of the new two-year deal and her production company, TPH Entertainment.

“Art can change perception and I plan to develop projects that can help further the conversation,” she added. “I also aim to help cultivate and establish new young talent and their stories because they are our future and deserve a voice and a platform to be heard. I’m so excited to have 20th, led by the talented Carolyn Cassidy, support me in this new endeavor!”
