Blogger Tasha K has responded after losing in court to Cardi B, who sued her for libel.
“My Husband, Attorney’s, & I fought really hard. I want to thank them for their long hours and sleepless nights. Winos it’s only up from here. See y’all in a few days. Back to work,” the blogger wrote in a statement.
“I forgot to thank all of the viewers for all of your support. In this business, this is part of the protocol. Everyone in my seat has been through this, & this ain’t the last. This comes with the territory. See y’all Friday! It’s long overdue!”
The jury awarded the rapper $1.25 million in damages after siding with her on all three claims of defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Cardi is to receive $1 million for “pain and suffering and/or reputational injury,” and $250,000 for actual medical expenses.
Cardi sued the blogger in March 2019 — after a series of videos uploaded to Youtube alleged the rapper had herpes and HPV.
“I felt defeated and depressed and I didn’t want to sleep with my husband,” Cardi B testified in court per TMZ and Dennis Byron of HipHopEnquirer.
Cardi told jurors in detail that Kebe ran a “malicious campaign” to tarnish her reputation. Kebe also alleged that the rapper previously worked as a prostitute and used cocaine. The “WAP” rapper said that she suffered from fatigue, anxiety, weight loss, and migraines because of the allegations. She also says she struggled to be intimate with her husband.
“Only an evil person could do that s—t,” she told the court.
“None of the aforementioned statements about plaintiff are true. Plaintiff was never a prostitute or a user of cocaine. Plaintiff has never, and does not now, have herpes, nor has she had herpes outbreaks on her mouth,” her lawsuit states.
