Tia Mowry explained how alone time helped her maintain her well-being and allowed her to recharge in a reflective Instagram post.
Tia Mowry filed for divorce from Cory Hardict after 14 years of marriage.
The American actress cited irreconcilable differences and asked for joint physical and legal custody of their two children, 11-year-old Cree and 4-year-old Cairo.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Friday, the 45-year-old entrepreneur shared how she embraced solitude over the past year and discovered something surprising.
Tia started her review by confessing how she had never been alone until after her divorce.
“I have a confession to make: I’ve never been alone. Until now. For the longest time, I’ve found myself in the company of others, as my work and family commitments kept me constantly surrounded by people, and not to mention, I have a twin. Alone time was a rare occurrence growing up,” the actress began.
Continuing her reflection, Tia Mowry meditated on the healing power of spending time alone and that being alone wasn’t “a punishment.”
“However, over the past year, I deliberately shifted my perspective and embraced moments of solitude. I realized that being alone wasn’t a punishment but rather an opportunity to recharge. Through conscious effort, I transformed these moments into a crucial aspect of maintaining my well-being.”
Tia’s lengthy caption was attached to a video of her singing and dancing. She held a wine bottle in one hand and a filled glass in the other. The clip had the words, “Me when no one is home,” written at the top.
Despite her divorce, Tia Mowry revealed that her marriage to Cory Hardrict was a “success”. She noted that though the journey was not easy it was worth it while on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna.
