Tracee Ellis Ross is taking her role on ABC‘s popular series black-ish to new levels! She will be directing an upcoming episode of the current season – and she is ecstatic about it!
“I’m so excited to share that I’m directing episode 21 of black-ish this season!” she divulged to PEOPLE.com. “It’s not my first time directing, but it’s my first time directing here. I’ve gotta be honest: I’m a little bit nervous because I heard Tracee Ellis Ross only likes to receive direction in a whisper tone, while Anthony Anderson only likes direction given through song. … All jokes aside, I’m really looking forward to working with my TV family in a new capacity.”
Ross shared a selfie holding the episode’s script, which is titled “Fifty-Three Percent” – but as clearly 100% happy about sharing the news!
It was only a couple of week ago the news that Ross was receiving a salary significantly less than that of her co-star, Anthony Anderson. It was reported that Ross had threatened to substantially cut back her appearances on the show to reflect the pay gap. She then took to social media to quash the rumors – stating that she was involved in routine negotiations no threats were made.
The actress nabbed a Golden Globe award last year for best actress in a TV series, comedy or musical for her role in the show.
We will be hooked to our screens for Ross’ directorial debut
