Marie Jabbie, a 24-year-old mother of two, and her unborn child tragically lost their lives in a devastating crash on Interstate 385 in South Carolina.
The accident occurred early Tuesday morning around 4:52 a.m., when Jabbie veered off the roadway while driving northbound, according to Live 5 News.
Emergency responders rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors performed an emergency cesarean section in an effort to save her unborn baby. Despite their efforts, both Jabbie and her baby passed away.
Jabbie is remembered by those close to her as a remarkable individual. Friends describe her as an intelligent woman who excelled in every career path she pursued and as a loving and caring soul with a “heart of gold.”
Jabbie’s death leaves her family and community in mourning, particularly her two surviving children, who now face a heartbreaking future without their mother.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and Mauldin Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
