Rapper Trina recently opened up about her decision to forego a prenuptial agreement with her husband. In an interview, she revealed that her trust in her partner was the primary reason behind her choice.
According to court documents uncovered by multiple outlets, Trina married her husband Benjamin Kearse Jr. on May 22 in Miramar, Florida. If the date is correct, the private ceremony would have taken place 47 days after the couple obtained a marriage license on April 5.
Kearse, also known as Swurv, was introduced to fans during the most recent season of Love & Hip Hop: Miami, where Trina’s relationship has played a central role in her appearances.
Trina and Swurv’s love blossomed after Trina’s split from former fiancé Raymond “Ray Almighty” Taylor, with whom she was engaged in 2021. At that time, the rapper proudly displayed her ring during an Instagram Live session with health influencer Stormy Wellington. Things eventually came to an end.
In a new interview with Keyshia Ka’oir, rapper Trina revealed details about her marriage to Benjamin Leon Kearse Jr.
One topic they discussed was Trina’s thoughts on marriage and financial arrangements. She admitted that she did not require her husband to sign a prenuptial agreement.
The “Da Baddest B***h” star emphasized her trust in her partner, claiming that he willingly gives her all of his money while she manages the couple’s finances.
“My husband brings all of his money to me, so I’m in charge. He can’t spend a dime without my consent. He can’t spend a dime for nothing unless it goes through me,” she shared.
Trina’s belief in her marriage is admirable, but her statement has sparked a heated debate among fans. Some applaud her for her trust and faith in her partner. On the other hand, others argue that her decision weakens her husband and may lead to problems in their relationship.
“Some things are better left unsaid, she just emasculated her husband publicly,” a fan commented.
Another added, “Wait, but he can still take your money… am I trippin ???”
“Embarrassing your husband on the Internet is a great way to start the Sunday,” another fan said.
Do you disagree with her approach?
