Twitter has enlisted the talents of Tracy McGraw to lead consumer communications and media campaigns.
McGraw will serve as Twitter’s senior director of global consumer communications and will oversee PR for the social media giant’s product launches, partner announcements and cultural events, according to Variety.
“We couldn’t be luckier to have Tracy joining this team,” Brandon Borrman, Twitter’s VP of global communications, said in a statement. “Twitter plays a massive role in shaping culture around the world, and Tracy is the perfect person to help us better tell those stories and deepen our connections.”
The outlet reports that McGraw previously led publicity efforts for the 2019 grand opening of Tyler Perry Studios. She created media partnerships with various production to amplify the studio’s purpose and vision ahead of its launch.
McGraw was the mastermind behind the rollout of Perry’s initiative to turn part of his 330-acre movie studio in Southwest Atlanta to housing LGBTQ homeless youth. During the program, residents also receive training in the entertainment business.
“I’ll tell you what I’m most excited about next,” Perry told CBS News co-anchor Gayle King in October. “Pulling this next phase off is building a compound for trafficked women and girls, homeless women, LGBTQ youth who were put out and displaced, and having a compound that is a beautiful place right here somewhere on this 330 acres where they are trained in the business and they become self-sufficient.”
McGraw worked at Viacom for more than two decades, where she held senior communications positions at BET Networks and VH1, where she managed a slew of multiplatform campaigns for original series,’ which include “The Game,” “Being Mary Jane,” and “Real Husbands of Hollywood.”
