Fans and loved ones of Wendy Williams are rallying for her independence, launching a GoFundMe campaign seeking $50,000 to challenge her court-ordered guardianship.

Organized by “Friends of the Williams Family,” the fundraiser aims to cover legal expenses to free the former talk show host, who has been under guardianship since May 2022.

The description alleges that Wendy’s guardian has “severed her connections with friends and family” and insists Wendy is capable of living independently, despite claims of her being “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.”

“For far too long, Wendy has faced the challenges of being unjustly placed under guardianship and labeled as incapacitated, despite her strong will and determination to live her life independently,” said the organizers.

The funds will also support efforts to relocate Wendy from New York to Florida, where her loved ones reside.

Organizers noted they’ve “exhausted their financial resources” in the ongoing legal battle.

Wendy, who has been navigating multiple health challenges, has seen an outpouring of support, with over $20,000 already raised.

The campaign is the latest chapter in her fight for autonomy as her family and fans continue to advocate for her freedom.
