Wendy Williams is taking matters into her own hands in an effort to end her court-ordered guardianship.

The former talk show host has fired her court-appointed attorney, Linda Redlisky, for allegedly failing to push her case to trial, according to TMZ.

Williams, who is currently living in an assisted-living facility in New York City, has referred to the situation as a “luxury prison,” as she reportedly has no access to incoming calls or smart devices.

Despite claims that she suffers from dementia, Williams has sounded coherent in recent interviews, raising questions about her legal status.

Frustrated by the lack of progress in challenging the guardianship, Williams is now seeking new legal representation.

She also hopes to travel to Florida to celebrate her father’s 94th birthday and is determined to regain control over her own life.

As of now, Redlisky has not publicly commented on the matter.
