A recent Swizz Beatz appearance on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club morning show has some fans buzzing about a potential Verzuz matchup between Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj.

On Wednesday, the Verzuz co-founder neither confirmed nor denied the battle between the two epic rappers.

“I can’t say, I can’t say,” Swizz said.

“So there’s still a possibility?” the show’s co-host DJ Envy questioned.

“Yeah, I can’t say. I can’t say,” the hit producer replied. “But just know if you’re going to wait this long for Verzuz – if we gone have you wait this long – it’s definitely going to be worth it.”

Talks of Kim and Nicki appearing together for a Verzuz first began in 2021, when Kim told Envy that she would be open to appearing alongside Nicki.

“I’d love to,” Kim said at the time.

Most who follow rap news are well aware of the feud between the two Queens MCs who have both cemented their roles in the game. The two would occasionally take jabs at each other in songs and caused other entertainers to chime in, including Mary J. Blige who referred to Kim as a “trailblazer” and Missy Elliott, who exuded diplomacy by requesting peace between the two.

Both Kim and Nicki have remained mum on speaking about the feud until 2022 when fans thought Kim dissed Nicki’s son on the remix of Megan Thee Stallion‘s Plan B.

“N*gga, you’s a b*tch, your father’s a b*tch, your brother’s a b*tch / Keep acting like this and your son gon’ be a b*tch,” Kim rapped on the record.

The verse caused fellow Queens rapper 50 Cent to chime in, writing on Instagram,

“QGTM @nickiminaj you better light her ass up i’m watching,” he wrote. “she said something about the baby. her baby eye fucked up. LOL.”

Lil Kim then responded in the comments: “It’s ok he just doin what bitch n*ggaz do. Now watch what God do to his Life !”

Kim further took to Instagram Stories to state that the lyrics weren’t about Nicki, but were geared towards the Get Rich of Die Tryin’ star.

“I never said a word about anyone’s child… please feel free to listen to the song where we were clearly talking about an EX,” she wrote. “To try and twist my words to have an excuse to take digs at my child is disgusting. I’m one of the most disrespected legends in the game but what you will not do is come for MY CHILD.”

She continued: “It’s so crazy how a song about bitch ass n*ggas could touch a bitch ass n*ggas soul so deeply that he results to attacking a child. Oh yeah it’s official to say… I’M THAT B*TCH!!!! Okayyyyy 50 you got me! The song was about YOU!!!!”
