Yara Shahidi has a lot to celebrate this week. After a year of successful TV and movie debuts, the Iranian-American star can now add brand ambassador for luxury fashion line, Christian Dior to her resume.
The Grown-ish actress shared a picture of herself happily posed next to her own campaign photo on Instagram. “You can already find my face in stores,” she captioned the post.
The French powerhouse revealed a new video of their Rouge Dior Forever, a stick version of their popular and best-selling red liquid lipstick. The lipstick is known to hold “16 hours of transfer-proof wear and bare lip comfort.”
The video, which also stars Hollywood starlet Natalie Portman, was directed by famed filmmaker and cinematographer, Arnaud Uyttenhove. In the campaign video, both Shahidi and Portman are featured in the middle of a desert wearing breezy chiffon dresses in the same shade of the lipstick.
This won’t be the first time Shahidi will work with Dior. In 2023, the fashion brand will release another campaign staring Shahidi at the Salk Institute. “The Queen’s Gambit” actress Anya Taylor-Joy will also appear in the ad. “A beautiful day,” she captioned a preview of the video expected to be released next year.
Dior appointed Shahidi as a global brand ambassador last year, making her the newest face for the French luxury line. Her campaign is themed around the modern heroine and focuses on women empowerment, strength and power. A great fit for Shahidi considering she has been an advocate for global issues, including equality and world peace.
