Yaya Mayweather, daughter of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, took to social media this week to express frustration after learning that NBA YoungBoy had reportedly traveled to Las Vegas, where she and their son live, without spending time with his child.
“I’ve never heard of someone going to the same state their child lives in and doesn’t see them,” she wrote. Moments later, she added another line that struck a nerve with followers: “The favoritism is crazy.”
Not long after posting, Mayweather deactivated her account, leaving fans to dissect the comments and speculate about what pushed her to speak out and then disappear from the platform entirely.
The situation tapped into a long, complicated history between Mayweather and NBA YoungBoy, born Kentrell Gaulden, that has played out publicly for years. Their relationship dates back to late 2018 and early 2019, during a period when the rapper was already navigating fatherhood with multiple partners.
In 2020, that tension escalated into legal trouble when Mayweather was arrested following an altercation involving another woman connected to YoungBoy. The incident resulted in charges and a restraining order, cementing the relationship’s place in the public eye for all the wrong reasons. Still, the two remained linked, especially after welcoming their son in January 2021.

Even after NBA YoungBoy married Jazlyn Mychelle in 2023, the connection between him and Mayweather never fully faded. There were moments of calm, flashes of affection, and then renewed conflict. Rumors surfaced again in 2025 after lyrics suggested Mayweather was pregnant, claims she denied while still openly expressing lingering feelings for him.
The reaction online has been divided. Some sympathize with Yaya, arguing that her frustration reflects a deeper, ongoing struggle many women face in co-parenting situations involving high-profile men with multiple families. Others question whether airing grievances publicly helps or hurts, particularly when children are involved.
For now, Yaya Mayweather has gone quiet, and NBA YoungBoy has not publicly responded.
