It’s been a bumpy ride for Brooklyn rapper Young M.A. who has been the subject of talks surrounding her physical and mental health, but the OOOUUU star has finally opened up about her condition, stating that she is working on herself and ready to make a comeback soon.
On Sunday, the 31-year-old took to Instagram to share a message about the toll some decisions she made have taken on her, adding that she is hopeful she will make a full recovery.
“I know I been low-key,” she said in an Instagram story. “Long story short, basically, it’s a small setback. Unfortunately, I made a lot of wrong decisions in my life. You know, it’s starting to catch up with [me]. So, I just want y’all to know, besides all that I’m actually doing much better. I’ve been getting well. I’ve been very much sober. I don’t want to go specifically into details. Because I really want to bring y’all on my journey.”
The Hello Baby star further dished on new music she is working on, in addition to a documentary detailing her life’s journey.
“I’m dropping some new music of course,” she added. “I’ma also have a documentary with my story. I’ma keep y’all in tune, catch y’all back up. Because I know y’all been wondering. Y’all know I’m mysterious. I keep my personal problems to myself. But now it’s time to expand that and express that to y’all.
“It’s gon’ be one of those M.A summers. I promise you,” she concluded.
Earlier this year, fans expressed concern after Young M.A.’s barber posted a before and after video of her getting her locs twisted. She would later release a statement about the video.
“As many of my supporters know I’ve been dealing with various personal health issues the last few years,” she wrote in a statement obtained by XXL. “I recently was hospitalized and was successfully treated for several conditions. I’m doing better now, will take some time, but I’m on the road to recovery and look forward to the future. Rest assured I’m in good spirits and everything will be explained in the MUSIC!”
