Deb Antney, the popular music manager who helped pave the way for several rappers’ rise to stardom, is opening up about a beef between two of her former clients: Nicki Minaj and Gucci Mane.

On a recent episode of Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, the mother of Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame said that Gucci Mane became furious and “couldn’t stand” Nicki Minaj because she did not want to sleep with him.

“You know what hurt me? Gucci couldn’t stand her,” Antney said. “He didn’t like Nicki because he couldn’t f*ck her. He didn’t like her.”

She added that it came as to a surprise to her that after the melee between the pair, Nicki still decided to work with him on the hit 2017 single, Make Love.

“And for you to give these big ups to the sh*t that he [Gucci] did — that sh*t was crazy. He ain’t did nothing for you [Nicki], he ain’t even like her,” she revealed.

It was just four years before the Make Love single, that the Lemonade rapper made outlandish claims that he slept with the Anaconda rapper on a song he recorded called Sex In Crazy Places.” In the second verse of the song, he raps:

Damn it turn me on when we do it in your mama home / Father long gone but Gucci can be your daddy baby / I can fly you anywhere / We can sex and crazy places / Airport, train station, going up the escalator / At the dome on the fifty / I’m gon’ throw it, you the center / When you hike it, I’m a spike it / Girl don’t act like you don’t like it.

Nicki responded to the lyrics on Twitter, stating: “May God strike me dead if I ever had sex wit that man. Lmfaoooooooooo. Ni**a da way ya #ugliness is set up #BubbaGump #Crackhead.”

All the while, Antney observed the back on the forth between the rappers, stating that she was disappointed the Gucci would make such claims.

“He’s very selfish, he’s very much to himself,” she said regarding Gucci Mane’s demeanor as a music artist and executive. “I don’t even understand how you get to sign artists.”

She continued: “An artist ain’t never gonna let another artist become bigger than them,” she added. “I never liked artists signing other artists.”
