Chris Brown Responds to Women Who Complained They Were Denied Entry Into Club Because They Were Black

by Xara Aziz

Over the weekend, Shine My Crown reported about a group of Black women who accused singer Chris Brown of colorism because they were denied entry into a popular London nightclub.

“We were supposed to go to see Chris Brown and there were thousands of girls lining up there. Thousands of girls, and they were not getting in. And we were supposed to be on the VIP guest list,” one of the women said in a video posted on Twitter at the time they were refused access inside the club.

Since then, the F.A.M.E star has taken to social media to address the allegations.

“STOP IT” he captioned a photo of him lounging in a VIP section surrounded by women – some of who appear to be Black. “I have black queens all around me. THOP REACHING.”

After he posted the photo, the woman in the original Twitter video accusing him of colorism retracted what she meant.

“That video had absolutely nothing to do with Chris Brown,” she said. “The only reason why his name was mentioned was because we were going to a club where he was hosting at.”

The Virginia native retweeted the clip on his Twitter page, adding, “CRAZY that I have to have receipts. LOVE OUTWEIGHS THE HATE OVER HERE!”

At the time of the event, the 33-year-old singer and songwriter was in the UK on a tour to promote his 10th studio album, Breezy.

As thousands of fans gathered at a nightclub where he was scheduled to appear, the clip of a group of Black women surfaced seemingly frustrated that they were not allowed inside.

“They forgot to tell us that Black girls ain’t allowed,” one woman said.

“They were literally handpicking these White girls…I’m not racist, but,” another commented.

“London you are shaking my life,” another jokingly added, while another said “If you don’t laugh you’ll cry. Guys, I swear…they’re only letting White chicks in. This night has been….a night.”

This is not the first time the singer has been accused of being a colorist.

In 2021, TikTik user @ashlyepic posted a video of her lip-synching the lyrics to Baby It’s Alright and wrote over the clip: “When Bhris Breezy told me I was too dark to get into his party.”

“Idk why I still like him I must like abuse,” she wrote in the caption.

Another woman then chimed in when the woman posted the TikTok video stating that she was standing in line at a Chris Brown event in Los Angeles with her two light-skinned friends and one white friend. According to her, the Virginia native allowed her friends in the party but told her “no darkies” allowed. She was then asked to leave.
