Following Uncle Waffles’ fan-approved Coachella performance in California, R&B sensation Ciara has taken to TikTok to showcase the amapiano DJ’s work and show her some love.

“I just love @unclewaffles_ she’s everything,” the Goodies singer wrote on an Instagram Story.

“Thank you, thank you so much,” the 23-year-old wrote while reposting Ciara’s post on her Instagram Stories.

Ciara would see the video and then proceeded to post a video of her on TikTok dancing to ‘Yahyuppiyah’ – a song featuring Tony Duardo, Justin99, Pcee, EeQue and Chle.

Born Lungelihle Zwane, Uncle Waffles, taught Ciara how to do the catchy Yahyuppiyah Dance Challenge.

Other celebrities, including Cassper Nyovest and Connie Chiume have also done the challenge.

Uncle Waffles has been part of an inevitable movement in South Africa for quite some time and has since gone on to gain international fame after Grammy award winner Drake began following her on Instagram. The Canadian rapper also gave her a shoutout after sharing a video of her DJing at an event.

Since then, she’s gone on to release her sophomore album Asylum earlier this year.

“Asylum,” she began in an interview. “This project is a representation of how I felt in my mind trying to grasp an industry I was blessed to be thrown in, an artistic portrayal of emotions and feelings, of growth, highs and lows and all the in betweens. It’s been a journey creating something I love, and I hope y’all love it too.”

Right before heading to Coachella, Uncle Waffles said that the album had gone gold. “This post is a little late but we went Gold in a week with 1 million Shazams and entered the Global charts. Thank you guys for listening.”

Uncle Waffles is noted for her work as a DJ while showcasing her dance abilities. Billboard has defined her as the “princess of amapiano” and her debut single, Tanzania, reached number one in South Africa.
