A Memphis mother, Jasmine Moss, 30, has been arrested and charged with child abuse after boasting on social media about her 5-year-old daughter waxing nude women at her salon.
The Memphis Police Department announced Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, that Moss was taken into custody at her residence on Monday and is currently being held in jail without bond.
The incident gained widespread attention on February 15 when Moss posted on Instagram, celebrating her daughter’s involvement in waxing 24 clients at her salon from 7:25 a.m. to 5 p.m., earning a total of $744.
The post, which included graphic images, has since been deleted.
Commenters expressed shock and concern over Moss’ actions, with one person threatening to contact Child Protective Services.
Although Moss deleted her Instagram accounts, the Memphis police issued a statement the following day, acknowledging the viral images of a minor performing a wax on a nude female.
They urged the public not to share or forward the images, emphasizing that the matter is under investigation.
According to local CBS affiliate WREG, Moss faces charges of child abuse and child neglect and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Feb 21.
