Kelly Rowland did not waste any time redirecting the interview focus from Renaissance and Destiny Child to Mea Culpa, her new Netflix thriller.

Rowland logged in at V-103 in Georgia to promote her leading role in Tyler Perry’s Mea Culpa. But the host and other guests were more interested in what Beyoncé had up her sleeve after shocking fans with her country music venture.

“So your sister is writing a whole new couple of songs, and it’s my understanding that Reinassance II, may or may not be country-based. And there’s a rumor going around that Renaissance III may be either rock-based or a DC reunion,” the host eagerly asked.

But Kelly Rowland was quick to chip in, “That is her business to talk about. Not mine.”

However, peeps in the studio were not ready to let the subject go, continuing to press on the actress to give dibs about the future of her former band.

“And I know that you are tired of answering those questions. But fans like me yearning for the DC (Destiny Child) reunion, and when y’all took that picture, it got me really excited and in my feelings. I’m like, okay, this is really going to happen. And so we are going to ask every time we see you … come on…”

Rowland stood firm on her decision while explaining the reason she was in their studios in the first place.

“I know, but just ask them. I’m here to talk about Mea Culpa. And that’s what I’m most excited about right now, ” she continued. “And I think that that’s that.”

Many fans supported Kelly Rowland’s decision to stay on track, pointing out that the comparison between her and her bestie, Beyonce, has long run off its course.

Beyoncé showed up to support Kelly Rowland at ‘Mea Culpa’ premiere. She also shared photos from the big night on Instagram, including a group shot with her mom, Tina Knowles, her cousin, Angie Beyince, and her husband, Jay-Z.

“Dats, my best friend! Dats my best friend!!!!! So proud of you Kelly,” Beyoncé captioned.
