The family of a young mother who was tragically killed in a suspected street racing incident on Interstate 20 has identified her as 32-year-old Shantea Reeves.

According to reports, the fatal collision occurred around 1:40 a.m. on Aug. 4, just past Moreland Avenue. When authorities arrived on the scene, they found Reeves unresponsive on the highway shoulder.

Investigations revealed that a black Mustang, allegedly involved in a high-speed race with another vehicle, struck Reeves as she was walking along the shoulder.

Shockingly, the Mustang fled the scene without stopping.

The tragedy deepened as it was discovered that four other vehicles involved in the street race also struck Reeves after the initial impact.

None of the drivers stopped to assist her, leaving the young mother to die alone on the side of the road.

Della Reeves, the victim’s grieving mother, expressed her heartbreak, saying:

“Her killer(s) are still at large. As a mother, I never imagined hearing this type of news about my baby.”

She has since set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses and provide support for Shantea’s young daughter, who is now in the care of her family.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The family continues to seek justice for Shantea and hopes that those responsible will be held accountable for their actions.

This tragic event is just one example of the dangers of illegal street racing and its devastating impact on innocent lives.
