‘All My Babies Gone’: Woman Loses All Her 3 Young Daughters to Various Tragedies

by Gee NY

A Milwaukee mother is living through every parent’s worst nightmare, the loss of all three of her youngest daughters, including two within the past year.

Martha Dunmore is struggling to process the unthinkable. Her 23-year-old daughter, De-Lisha Dunmore, was shot and killed just days ago near 42nd and Hope. The tragedy comes nearly a year after De-Lisha survived a crash caused by a drunk driver — one that claimed the life of her younger sister Talise, who was just 20.

“This is the third time I am going to have to write an obituary for someone less than 25 years old,” Dunmore said, describing the unbearable pain of a parent who has buried not one, but three children.

Years before the recent tragedies, Dunmore also lost her daughter Leah, who passed away from cancer in 2019.

All my Dunmore babies, they just gone, she shared through tears, reflecting on the unimaginable reality she now faces.

De-Lisha, remembered by her family as “a precious jewel,” was a licensed lash technician with dreams of finishing nursing school before her life was cut short.

“They robbed us of her life,” Dunmore said, calling for the person responsible to surrender.

Despite her grief, Dunmore finds solace in believing her daughters are reunited. “One day, I’ll be there, and I can’t wait to hold you again,” she said.

The Milwaukee Police Department has not announced an arrest in De-Lisha’s case.

Family members are offering a reward for information that leads to the shooter. In the meantime, they plan to honor her memory by “painting the city pink” and continuing to advocate for justice.
