In a stunning display of skill and precision, Atlanta Dream star Allisha Gray made WNBA All-Star history by becoming the first player to win both the 3-point contest and the skills challenge on the same night.

The remarkable achievement took place inside the Footprint Center during the 2024 WNBA All-Star festivities.

Gray’s evening began with a triumph in the KIA WNBA Skills Challenge. Not content with one victory, she then clinched the STARRY 3-Point Contest title, solidifying her status as a dominant force in the league’s skills competition.

In the 3-point contest final round, Gray scored 22 points, narrowly edging out New York Liberty forward Jonquel Jones, who finished with 21 points.

Jones had a chance to clinch the victory but missed a crucial shot before the buzzer. Gray had already set the tone in the first round with an impressive 23 points, while Jones posted a night-high score of 25 points.

Other competitors, including Connecticut Sun’s Marina Mabrey (19 points), Minnesota Lynx’s Kayla McBride (21 points), and Washington Mystics’ Stefanie Dolson (20 points), were eliminated after strong performances by Gray and Jones.

Throughout the contest, Gray displayed exceptional shooting accuracy and composure under pressure. Her win in both events earned her $110,000 in bonuses from Aflac, bringing her total winnings close to her annual salary of $185,000.

Gray’s historic double victory sets the stage for her next challenge: the All-Star Game.

She will suit up for Team WNBA against the USA Basketball Women’s National Team on Saturday in Phoenix, looking to add another accolade to her stellar All-Star weekend.

The WNBA All-Star Game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. PT.
