Angel Reese continues to make her presence felt on the court, showcasing her signature tenacity and rebounding prowess despite Rose BC’s five-game win streak coming to an end in Unrivaled play.
In a hard-fought battle against Mist BC, led by Breanna Stewart, Reese delivered a strong defensive effort and contributed 13 rebounds, a block, and eight points. However, Rose BC ultimately fell short, losing 71-62.
Though Reese faced defensive pressure throughout the game, her resilience was evident. She shot 40 percent from the field and remained a dominant force on the glass.
Her ability to control the boards helped keep Rose BC competitive, even as Mist BC’s offense applied steady pressure. Despite the loss, Reese’s performance reaffirmed her reputation as a fierce competitor and one of the league’s most relentless rebounders.
Chelsea Gray led Rose BC with an impressive 38-point performance on 54 percent shooting, but Mist BC’s balanced scoring attack and defensive schemes proved too much to overcome.
Aaliyah Edwards played a key role in slowing Reese down, but the former LSU standout continued to battle in the paint, demonstrating the work ethic that has defined her career.
The game remained tight until the final moments of the third quarter when WNBA standout DiJonai Carrington hit a crucial jumper, extending Mist BC’s lead. From there, Mist BC maintained control, and veteran guard Courtney Vandersloot sealed the win with a late basket.
Despite the setback, Rose BC remains one of the top teams in Unrivaled, trailing only the Lunar Owls, who improved to 10-1 on the season. With just four weeks left in the regular season, the competition is intensifying as the playoff picture takes shape ahead of the postseason tip-off on March 16.
As Unrivaled action winds down, Reese will shift her focus to her second WNBA season with the Chicago Sky. She is eager to bounce back from a wrist injury that ended her rookie campaign prematurely.
The Sky hold the No. 10 pick in the upcoming 2025 WNBA Draft, and Reese has been vocal about her interest in the team selecting top collegiate talent, particularly following NC State’s recent double-overtime win against Notre Dame.
With Vandersloot returning to Chicago after winning a WNBA championship with the New York Liberty, Reese will have a veteran floor general to help elevate her game.
