In a stunning turn of events, British broadcaster Piers Morgan has issued a public apology to music power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z after airing controversial allegations against them.

The “Piers Morgan Uncensored” interview, in which Wright discussed sex trafficking allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs and the music industry as a whole, was edited after the couple’s lawyers contacted the famed broadcaster.

The controversial interview occurred earlier this week when singer Jaguar Wright appeared on Morgan’s Uncensored show to discuss Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ recent arrest.

During the discussion, which has since gone viral, Wright used the platform to level accusations against Jay-Z and Beyoncé, claiming that both have “hundreds of victims.”

In the interview, she referred to Jay-Z, for whom she once worked as a backing singer, as a “monster” and to him and Beyoncé as a “nasty little couple.””

“For four years, I’ve been screaming not just Diddy, but Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters,” she accused.

Now, Piers Morgan has explained to viewers that he had been contacted by Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s lawyers and has been asked to apologise for broadcasting the statements made by his guest on his show.

“Jaguar Wright unexpectedly made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during that interview. As I said at the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves. But now they have,” Piers Morgan began his apology.

He continued, adding that the couple’s lawyers stated that the claims were “totally false and have no basis in fact” and that his show was complying with a legal request to remove portions of the interview.

“Editing interviews is not something we do lightly at a show called ‘Uncensored,’ but like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theater, there are legal limits on us, too,” he said. “And we apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”

Sean’ Diddy’ Combs is currently in custody, awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He has also faced over 100 sexual misconduct allegations. He was arrested in mid-September after a grand jury indictment.
