Black Girl Ventures and TikTok Launch 2025 SOAR Together Accelerator to Empower Black Women Entrepreneurs

by Gee NY

TikTok is doubling down on its commitment to Black women entrepreneurs by teaming up with Black Girl Ventures (BGV) for the 2025 SOAR Together accelerator program.

This six-week initiative is designed to help Black-owned businesses maximize their potential on TikTok Shop through mentorship, educational courses, and business coaching. TikTok Shop is an e-commerce feature of the video hosting service officially launched in September 2023. The feature enables users interested in starting a business and generating income to upload their curated products on TikTok for others to discover and purchase.

Through this partnership, 20 Black-owned businesses across various industries—including digital creatives—will be selected to participate in the program.

The initiative builds upon TikTok’s $1 million investment in Black Girl Ventures last year, reaffirming its dedication to fostering economic opportunities for Black and brown women entrepreneurs.

Founded by entrepreneur and computer scientist Omi Bell, Black Girl Ventures has been at the forefront of increasing access to capital and resources for women of color in business.

The SOAR Together accelerator aligns with BGV’s mission by equipping Black-owned businesses with the tools needed to scale and thrive in the digital marketplace.

Applications for the program are open until February 21, 2025. Interested entrepreneurs can apply through Black Girl Ventures’ official website: https://blackgirlventures.submittable.com/submit.
