A viral Instagram video claiming that “Black people are all Black people have” following the Texas Senate primary loss of Jasmine Crockett is getting attention on social media.
The blunt analysis of the elections by the Instagram user Elle Jay has ignited debate over race, voting patterns, and political alliances in the United States.
The video, posted under the handle @mercurialluvr_, argues that Crockett’s defeat demonstrates that Black voters cannot rely on political support from other minority groups.
“Black people are all Black people have,” the creator said in the clip, which has circulated widely online.

In the video commentary, the creator points to demographic voting statistics and claims that a large majority of Black voters supported Crockett while voters from other racial groups backed her opponent, identified in the post as James Talarico.
“93% of Black voters voted for Crockett, and because of that she almost won,” the narrator said, suggesting that support from other demographic groups ultimately determined the outcome.
The video also criticizes Latino and Asian voters, alleging that many supported the Republican candidate despite political debates over issues such as immigration policy and racial discrimination.
The remarks have generated significant reaction online. Some social media users echoed the sentiment about the importance of Black political unity, while others criticized the message as divisive and misleading.
Crockett, a Democratic congresswoman representing Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives, has become a prominent figure in national political debates due to her outspoken commentary and advocacy on issues including voting rights and criminal justice reform.
Crockett lost the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Texas to state Rep. James Talarico, in the keenly contested March 3 polls. Talarico, a state lawmaker from an Austin-area district, defeated Crockett in the highly competitive primary race, which in many ways centered on race and gender.
Many in the Democratic Party viewed the race, the first major primary of the 2026 midterms, as a test of the party’s future direction.
The circulation of the clip by Elle Jay reflects the general disappointment among Crockett’s for the loss.
