Ciara and her adorable children were spotted sporting Russell Wilson’s Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys as they cheered him on to a big win against the New York Jets.
The Steelers had their easiest win of the season against the New York Jets in Week 7, steamrolling a struggling team on their way to a 37-15 victory in front of the Pittsburgh faithful.
Following Justin Fields’ 4-2 start, the Pittsburgh Steelers were widely criticized for starting Russell Wilson over him. Fields outperformed expectations, Wilson provided less mobility, and Pittsburgh had been relatively successful in the early going, escaping with close victories week after week.
Russell Wilson won the job at the start of the season but was soon injured, so Justin Fields took over. Fields led the team to a 4-2 record before Wilson returned from his injury.
However, once Wilson returned, head coach Mike Tomlin made it clear that the two quarterbacks would still compete for the position.
Early in the week of preparation for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, Tomlin hinted that Wilson would start in Week 7. Ultimately, Tomlin went with Wilson in Week 7, which proved to be the correct decision.
But after a successful four-play, 54-yard touchdown drive to end the first half, Wilson was set.
Wilson finished the game with 16 of 29 passing for 264 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. The Steelers scored 37 points, their most in a single game since 2021 when Ben Roethlisberger was at quarterback.
The 38-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday to celebrate husband Russell Wilson’s win in his Steelers debut, a 37-15 victory over the Jets on Sunday.
“Victory Monday!” Go, Daddy @DangeRussWilson! “Go @Steelers,” Ciara captioned the post, which included photos of the family wearing Wilson’s No. 3 jersey at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
The Wilson family’s presence at the game was a clear demonstration of their unwavering support for Russell. Ciara and her children were seen cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines, their faces painted with the Steelers’ colors.
With Ciara and the kids cheering from the stands in style, it’s no surprise Russell Wilson continues to win—on and off the field!
