An Atlanta family is mourning the tragic loss of a 34-year-old mother of three who was shot and killed while delivering food outside an elementary school, a case that has sparked shock and grief in the local community.

Authorities say Eboni Anderson was fatally shot Tuesday outside Palmetto Elementary School, where she had reportedly arrived to complete a rideshare food delivery.

Family members described Anderson as a devoted mother and loving daughter whose death has left a deep emotional void.

“She was a loving daughter. Beautiful. Always,” said her stepfather, Tariq Robinson, speaking through tears.

Delivery Job Turned Tragic

Robinson said Anderson was working to support her family when the shooting occurred. A spokesperson for DoorDash confirmed she was active on the platform at the time of the incident.

“This is a tragic situation and our thoughts are with the Dasher’s loved ones,” the company said in a statement. “Our team is urgently investigating and working with law enforcement to help their investigation in any way possible.”

Anderson leaves behind three young children — including 8-year-old twins and an 18-month-old toddler — whom relatives say she worked tirelessly to provide for.

“She was a great mother. She loved her boys. She did everything she could for them,” Robinson said.

Suspect Arrested After Chase

Police with Fulton County Schools identified the suspected shooter as Christopher Loris Ates, who used to date Anderson. Authorities say he was arrested after a vehicle chase that ended in Twiggs County, Georgia.

Investigators have not publicly detailed a motive, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.

Community Grief and Support Efforts

Loved ones say funeral arrangements are still being planned, while family members have launched an online fundraiser to help cover burial costs and support Anderson’s children.

The killing has intensified concern about safety risks faced by gig economy workers, particularly those who frequently operate alone and in unfamiliar locations while completing deliveries.

As the investigation continues, Anderson’s family says they are focused on honoring her memory and caring for her children in the wake of what they describe as a senseless tragedy.
