From Food Stamps to 7-Figure Success: How Trishonna Helm Turned Dreams Into Reality

by Gee NY

Trishonna Helm’s journey from unemployment and food stamps to a thriving entrepreneur is nothing short of inspiring.

By the age of 25, the Omaha native had built multiple six-figure businesses spanning industries like fashion, real estate, food and beverage, social media, and business strategy.

Today, she’s not only a successful business owner but also an advocate for women’s empowerment and a silent investor.

Trishonna’s entrepreneurial journey began with Mixin’s Rolled Ice Cream, which made an astonishing six figures within its first 60 days. However, her road to success wasn’t without challenges. Facing skepticism about her age and ethnicity, Trishonna persevered despite the odds.

“Many close people tried to project their fears onto me to stop me from opening a business,” she shared. “I had to dig deep and find ways around the negativity to achieve my goals.”

Even after the initial success of her first store, Trishonna encountered setbacks. She expanded to a second location but eventually lost it due to unforeseen challenges in business development and partnerships.

Viewing these obstacles as opportunities to learn, she pivoted by launching a clothing line, Genrevaein, which gained national attention after its Fall collection debuted at New York Fashion Week.

Now, Trishonna is preparing for a major comeback. With renewed focus and strategy, she’s reopening Mixin’s Rolled Ice Cream in Omaha and has plans for a new store in Atlanta.

“This store is going to be my comeback story,” she said. “Failures are just stories for success if you don’t give up.”

As a serial entrepreneur, Trishonna has become a beacon of resilience and determination, proving that setbacks can lead to even greater successes.
