Halle Bailey and DDG’s split has taken a bitter turn, with the rapper claiming his ex is deliberately limiting his access to their 1-year-old son, Halo, amid their ongoing co-parenting struggles.
DDG aired his frustrations during a candid Instagram Live session on Friday night, shattering the pair’s carefully curated image of post-breakup harmony.
During the livestream, DDG (real name Darryl Granberry Jr.) insisted his demanding career isn’t to blame for his limited time with Halo. Instead, he accused Bailey, 24, of monopolizing their infant son’s time since their separation. “I don’t care who she’s talking to, who she’s with, who she’s filming movies with,” he said. “I just care about my son. She knows this makes me frustrated. She knows this is the only way to get under my skin.”
The 26-year-old rapper, who shares custody of Halo with the Little Mermaid star, admitted their relationship has soured since their late 2023 split. “We’re not on good terms,” he confessed, though he stopped short of detailing the root of their discord.
The rapper further claimed that their child’s nanny spends more time with him than he does and emphasized that he was just a father wanting to spend time with his son.
The former couples have faced challenges with their co-parenting setup in the past after their breakup. In November 2024, Halle Bailey criticized DDG for featuring their son Halo on a livestream with fellow streamer Kai Cenat.
She said, “Just so you know, I am out of town and don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight. I wasn’t told or notified. I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people.” Bailey then made an allusion to DDG’s lack of communication.
Halle added, “I am his mother and protector. And saddened that I wasn’t notified, especially when I am out of town.”
Halle Bailey has not addressed the accusations yet, but with DDG airing things out in public, it seems like this situation is far from over.
