Clark Peoples shuts down a groom’s petty challenge and buys the bride her Coach bags. TikTok’s favorite big sis, Clark Peoples, just did what that bride-to-be’s fiancé should’ve done from the start, and the internet is eating it up.
A woman recently went viral after sharing screenshots of a text conversation with her fiancé, in which she asked for two Coach bags as a wedding gift. Instead of saying yes (or no like a grown adult), homeboy hit her with a checklist straight outta reality TV. He said she had to get 50,000 likes, double her social media following, get a comment from influencer Clark Peoples, and, essentially, complete an Olympic-level scavenger hunt.
Clark Peoples, who saw the video, immediately took action. “You guys, I chanced upon this video of this girl whose fiancé said if she got 50K likes, doubled her followers, got a comment from me, jumped through a hula-hoop of fire, climbed a mountain, and sourced something from the Titanic shipwreck, he’d buy her two bags,” Clark said in a now-viral video. “So I just went and bought the bags because we are NOT doing all that.”
The streets (aka Black Twitter) responded immediately.
- “Date people who actually like you!!!”
- “For COACH?! He’s acting like she was asking for two Birkins and a baby dolphin.”
- “Those two bags together cost like $500 max, and she gotta do all that? He’s embarrassing.”
- “Clark Peoples is the fairy godmother we didn’t know we needed.”
Let’s be real: Coach isn’t exactly designer haute couture. We’re talking solid, stylish, mid-tier luxury, not bank-breaking. So, why this woman’s fiancé needed her to turn into an influencer overnight just to earn a couple of handbags is anyone’s guess.
Also… she’s your fiancée. If she asked you for something special, maybe… just maybe, you say yes because you love her?
