Jada Pinkett Smith has addressed her husband’s incident at the Oscars with a brief but effective message shared on her Instagram.

“This is a season for healing and I’m here for it,” the Hollywood actress posted.

Will Smith struck fellow comedian Chris Rock onstage at the 94th annual Academy Awards on Sunday after Rock made a joke about her hair.

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally,” he wrote after the awards ceremony.

Rock’s joke was in reference to Demi Moore’s shaved head in the movie “G.I. Jane.” Rocked joked that we could all look forward to “G.I. Jane 2.” The quip was not well received.

Last year, Pinkett Smith opened up about her battle with alopecia. The star posted a video on her Instagram showing off her shaved head.

“At this point, I can only laugh. Y’all know I’ve been struggling with alopecia, and just all of sudden one day—look at this line right here,” she says, pointing to a line at the front of her head. “It just showed up like that,” she says to the camera.

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder that causes your hair to fall out. According to WebMD, the hair often falls out in clumps the size and shape of a quarter. However, the amount of hair loss is different in everyone. Most cases occur before the age of 30.

Pinkett-Smith captioned the post: “Mama’s gonna have to take it down to the scalp so nobody thinks she got brain surgery or something,” she wrote. “Me and this alopecia are going to be friends….period!”
