Janet Jackson posted a teaser for her upcoming documentary titled “JANET.”

“JANET” will air on Lifetime & A&E in January 2022.

The teaser shows never seen before clips from her record-breaking career spanning four decades. In the teaser, Jackson is seen with close friends and collaborators, including Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul, her brother Tito Jackson and Whyley Yoshimura, one of her longtime dancers.

She shared the teaser via her official Instagram account.

“This is my story told by me. Not through someone else’s eyes,” she declares at the end of the clip.

Jackson is one of the most influential performers of our time and has racked up a slew of prestigious awards over the duration of her career. She has won five GRAMMY Awards, two Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a nomination for an Academy Award along with dozens of American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards.

Jackson was very close to her late brother, the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson. In a rare interview in 2019, she spoke about her brother’s legacy.

“It will continue,” she told The Sunday Times of London. “I love it when I see kids emulating him, when adults still listen to his music. It just lets you know the impact that my family has had on the world. I hope I’m not sounding arrogant in any way – I’m just stating what is. It’s really all God’s doing, and I’m just thankful for that.”

Jackson shared that having so many siblings made it easier to deal with not having a normal childhood.

“You really miss out,” she said. “You don’t get to do all the fun things that kids do. I wanted to do gymnastics, but that couldn’t happen because I was busy working. But at least I had my brothers and sisters. They were my best friends.”
