For the 4th July celebrations, Keke Palmer shared a heartwarming video of her ex, Darius Jackson, spending quality time with her and their son amid custody controversy.
Before she posted the video, KeKe Palmer had already dropped her request for a restraining order and sole custody of her son in May.
Palmer had previously sought sole custody of their child and a restraining order against Jackson, citing domestic violence.
The “Akeelah and the Bee” filed for full legal and physical custody of her and Darius Jackson’s 8-month-old son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson.
After providing evidence to the court, the actress was awarded sole custody of her son. A temporary restraining order has also been granted against her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson, whom she accused of domestic abuse.
According to the motion Keke filed, Darius Jackson has been violent towards her on more than one occasion. She added that she ended the relationship last month, triggering an unannounced visit from Darius on November 7.
The 30-year-old actress stated that her 29-year-old ex-boyfriend barged into her house and ordered her to see their 8-month-old son.
Keke continued to claim that the fitness instructor proceeded to assault her and submitted footage that allegedly showed Darius “hitting” and “dragging” her.
The case, which received considerable attention in 2023, headed towards an out-of-court settlement when the domestic violence restraining order hearing scheduled for July 16, 2024, was canceled.
According to reports, Palmer’s attorney filed to remove the hearing from the court calendar because Palmer and Jackson, who have a son, had agreed to settle their dispute outside of court.
As the dust settles from their legal disputes, Palmer and Jackson are working together in the best interest of their son.
The clip shows the former couple spending quality time together with their son, seemingly on friendly terms. Palmer was the photographer, while Darius, who is also a swimming instructor, kept baby Leo busy in the pool.
Fans have commented on the development, with some predicting a turning point moment.
