Actress Nia Long and her ex-partner Ime Udoka have reached a significant settlement regarding custody and financial support for their 12-year-old son, Kez, according to court documents obtained by People magazine.
Under the terms of the agreement, Long will have sole physical custody of Kez while continuing to share joint legal custody with Udoka. The NBA coach has agreed to provide $32,000 per month in child support to Long to support their son.
The court documents outline arrangements for visitation, with Udoka granted reasonable visitation with Kez, taking into consideration the child’s schedule and well-being.
Additionally, Udoka will provide a nanny to assist with transportation between parental visits and cover any travel expenses related to Kez’s visits while Udoka is on the road.
In the event of disagreements regarding visitation, Long and Udoka are required to consult with Kez’s treating therapist to ensure the best interests of the child are prioritized.
Regarding vacation and holidays, the former couple will share or alternate holidays based on Udoka’s availability, and Udoka will have up to three non-consecutive weeks of vacation time with Kez each year. Long and Udoka must also communicate their desired summer vacation plans with Kez no later than April each year.
Long’s representatives have not responded to a request for comment, according to theGrio.
The settlement comes after Long initially filed for sole legal and physical custody of Kez in August, following the end of her 13-year relationship with Udoka in December 2022.
The split occurred amid reports of Udoka’s suspension as head coach of the Boston Celtics over allegations of an affair with a female subordinate.
Despite the challenges, Long remains focused on her role as a mother and expressed gratitude for the support she has received from family, friends, and the community during this difficult time.
