Kelly Rowland has revealed that she is pregnant with her second child.
The singer revealed the pregnancy on the November cover of Women’s Health.
“We had been talking about it loosely, and then COVID happened, and we were just like, ‘Let’s see what happens,’ “Rowland told the publication.
Rowland says she and her husband agreed to try for a second child, but she was surprised she got pregnant right away. Due to the ongoing pandemic and the general state of the country, she was reluctant to share her news publicly. “But you still want to remind people that life is important,” she says. “And being able to have a child… I’m knocking at 40’s door in February. Taking care of myself means a lot to me.”

Ever the sweetheart, Rowland was concerned that her fans would be disappointed about a delay in her upcoming album.
“I was thinking, Oh my god, my fans are gonna be so disappointed.…They wanted an album first, but they got a baby!” she says. “And I was like, ‘I have to figure this out so they get both.'”
Speaking to The Cut in May, she said, “in order for the album to be complete,” she says, there is “one more story to tell” about the heartbreaking absence of her own mother.
“It’s the hardest story of my life, because it’s the thing that I once thought was just so ugly,” she said. “My relationship with her was the most tumultuous relationship,” adding, “I still haven’t shared what it is, but I want to on the record.”
