Tyla friend-zoned Twitch streamer Kai Cenat after he asked the singer out on a date during a ‘painful’ livestream, leaving all his followers and hers as witnesses.

Tyla participated in Kai Cenat’s most recent livestream on Sunday (March 24). The pair’s interaction spawned several viral moments, most notably when the New York native asked her out on a date.

Even though the two celebs made headlines last week when they were spotted dancing together at a club following the release of Tyla’s debut album, she said no.

The duo sat in front of 150,000 live streamers and basically read comments from viewers who had questions for the singer.

While answering a question from a fan, Kai, 22, took his shot with the Water singer.

Hilariously, she declined his offer and, according to social media users, placed him in the “friend zone.”

In the video, Cenat asked, “Would you like to go on a date with me?”

Tyla replied, “Are you for real? Don’t do that.”

After repeating himself, Tyla repeats, “You can’t do that on the whole [livestream]… Um, but we’re friends, though.”

Things became awkward, but the famous content creator played it cool, saying, “You’re right. Alright, next question.”

Tyla then appeared to console the YouTube personality by briefly touching his arm.

Tyla is one of South Africa’s most successful artists. Water, the singer’s hit song, brought her international success and a Grammy award. And now her debut studio album, TYLA, is out.

On Friday, March 22, singing sensation Tyla Seethal released her self-titled debut album, TYLA. So far, the album features collaborations with a star-studded line-up, Essence hitmaker Tems, American rapper Gunna, singer Becky G, and Astro World rapper Travis Scott.

A few months ago, Tyla disclosed that Drake was lurking in her DMs, saying she knew he would, and he proved her right.
