Following an eight-month long investigation, a woman has been arrested and charged for multiple robberies across Long Island.

Police say April Summers, 35, would often kidnap, rob and assault victims she met through online escort ads. When she was finally captured at the Floral Park Motor Inn on Jericho Turnpike, she violently resisted arrest. She was eventually apprehended, charged and detained.

During her arraignment, alleged victims accused Summers of threatening to make rape allegations against them if they did not fork over $5,000.

Summers is charged with robbery, assault, coercion and strangulation. The judge has also issued four orders of protection for the victims.

The suspect is currently being held on $300,000 cash or $600,000 bond. According to her lawyer, she does not have the money so she will remain in jail. She is expected to appear in court on June 21.

“I’m not surprised, unfortunately,” said one Long Island resident who lives near the Floral Park Motor Inn where many of the robberies took place. “…I know a lot of people that go to that hotel aren’t really from around here, and sometimes it brings bad things to our neighborhood.”

In a robbery attempt of another form, A Las Vegas woman who proudly boasted “you’ll never catch me” as she was filmed stealing goods from a store has been arrested, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed.

Nicole Waters, 51, has been charged with robbery after she “brazenly took items” from a retail store near the 2000 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard in January.

In video footage that has since been released to the public, the suspect is seen carrying several items while laughing and telling an employee at the store “you will never catch me.”

Police say it was the video that led to her arrest. Several people who saw the video said that they knew of her whereabouts and tipped police. She was later found close to the store where she committed the robbery.
