A 21-year-old woman from Miami says buying her dream supercar has unexpectedly turned her into a viral talking point online.
In a video circulating widely on social media, the young driver said that since purchasing a roughly $230,000 McLaren Artura, she has faced backlash from strangers, skepticism about whether the vehicle is actually hers, and repeated traffic stops by police.
“It has been almost a month since I got my dream car,” she said in the video. “The amount of hate that I’ve gotten since I’ve gotten this car… it’s just crazy.”

Claims of Online Harassment
The woman said people frequently accuse her of renting the vehicle rather than owning it, with some shouting comments when they see her driving.
She said the reaction surprised her because she purchased another luxury vehicle last year—an Mercedes‑Benz G‑Class SUV—and did not receive the same level of attention or criticism.
“I have a G-Wagon too and nobody cared when I got my G-Wagon last year,” she said in the video.
According to her account, the situation escalated after she began posting clips of the car online, drawing both supporters and critics.

Multiple Police Stops
The woman also claimed she has been pulled over 21 times in one month while driving the McLaren. Some of the stops were recorded and shared online.
In one clip, she said officers stopped her over loud music while she was driving near Miami’s Ocean Drive area.
The frequency of the stops has fueled debate among viewers about whether the incidents could represent racial profiling or whether the attention is a natural result of driving a rare high-performance supercar.
Debate Across Social Media
The viral video has sparked a heated online discussion.
Some commenters say the repeated stops raise concerns about how young drivers—particularly young women of color—are perceived when driving high-value vehicles.
Others argue that a rare exotic car like the McLaren Artura, which is uncommon even in luxury-car-heavy areas such as Miami, naturally attracts curiosity from both the public and law enforcement.
Supercars and Public Attention
High-end performance vehicles like the Artura, a hybrid supercar produced by McLaren Automotive, are known for their distinctive appearance and engine sound, often drawing attention on city streets.
Despite the criticism and scrutiny, she said the car remains something she worked hard to obtain.
“It’s my dream car,” she said.
