New details have emerged in the investigation of Kelsey Glover, a Florida mother accused of drowning her 14-year-old daughter, Giselle Glover, in what police describe as a heinous crime.
Authorities now allege that Glover withheld her daughter’s life-saving insulin before the fatal incident.
Glover, 35, remains in custody at the Osceola County Jail, charged with aggravated assault and battery related to a separate attack on her roommate.
While she has not yet been formally charged with her daughter’s death, police expect to pursue first-degree murder charges pending the results of an autopsy.
The latest update reveals that Giselle, who had diabetes, became severely ill after Glover stopped administering her insulin.
Court documents state that Giselle exhibited symptoms including vomiting, weakness, and difficulty eating or drinking. Despite pleas from a concerned roommate to seek medical help for the teenager, Glover reportedly refused.
The situation escalated when Glover allegedly placed Giselle in a bathtub and held her head underwater.
The roommate attempted to intervene, pulling the teenager from the tub and administering aid, but Glover allegedly stopped her and threatened her with a hammer.
Police later arrived to find Giselle unresponsive; she was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Investigators also noted significant damage to the residence, including “several holes in the door consistent with hammer strikes.”
The revelation about the withheld insulin sheds further light on the dire circumstances leading up to Giselle’s death.
Authorities have emphasized the gravity of the case, with Glover deemed a danger to the community and held without bail as the investigation continues.
