Naomi Osaka is making a strong recovery after a disappointing end to her Australian Open campaign.
The four-time Grand Slam champion has returned to practicing and is eager to get back on the court. Despite an unfortunate finish to her Australian Open run due to an abdominal injury, the 27-year-old is optimistic about her future in tennis and can’t wait to compete again.
Osaka started the 2025 season strong, reaching the final in Auckland before an abdominal injury forced her to retire during the final against Clara Tauson. Despite this setback, the former world No. 1 managed to make a strong showing at the Australian Open, where she secured notable victories over Caroline Garcia and Karolina Muchova. Unfortunately, her abdominal troubles resurfaced, preventing her from finishing her third-round match against Belinda Bencic.
However, Osaka is on the mend and appears to be recovering well. “Genuinely can’t wait to play a tournament again,” she shared in a post on Instagram, offering fans a glimmer of hope for her swift return to action.

In her post-match press conference, Osaka admitted that she knew it would be tough to finish against Bencic.
“It was, I guess, a little inevitable, but I think the competitor in me just wanted to see it through to the end,” she said. “I just hope that I can figure it out and figure out how to get healthy in time for upcoming tournaments at Indian Wells and Miami in March.”
Osaka also revealed that abdominal issues have been a recurring problem throughout her career, particularly due to the explosive nature of her serve.
“I kind of have a history of it, since I was a teenager. At least once a year, I’d get an ab strain. For me, I want to say it’s more the way my serve is — it’s quite explosive,” she explained.
Fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the court, with many anticipating her next move as she prepares to bounce back from her recent challenges.
