#PowerCouple: Viola Davis and husband Julius Tennon Inks First-Look Deal With Amazon Studios

Viola Davis is collecting her coin!

JuVee Productions, launched by Davis and hubby Julius Tennon, is teaming up with Amazon Studios.

Recently, Davis stars in Steve McQueen’s 20th Century Fox/New Regency movie Widows and just wrapped Amazon Studios’ Troupe Zero, also starring Allison Janney and Jim Gaffigan.  Troupe Zero is a heartwarming comedy about a band of misfit outcasts is directed by Bert & Bertie, written by Lucy Alibar. The movie  will be released next year. 

“Amazon Studios is passionate about building a home for both new and established filmmakers of all backgrounds, who share the same vision in telling incredible and engaging human stories,” Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios, said in a statement. “Viola and Julius Tennon’s JuVee Productions brings distinctive, fresh voices and high-quality content to our customers in both theaters and on Prime Video.”

This is a big  power move for Davis as more stars of color continue to go against the grain in Hollywood. Moreso on streaming platforms that have recently been dominating the way audiences view their media.
