The custody battle between Anthony Edwards and Ayesha Howard just got a lot more dramatic. In a new update, Howard is reportedly asking for $500,000 and a public apology from the NBA star before she will sign off on a sole custody agreement for their daughter.

The two have been at odds since their daughter, Aubri, was born in October of last year. While Howard was granted temporary sole custody in April, she has had a difficult time signing off on the permanent custody papers. Initially, she rejected clauses from Edwards’ team that stated she couldn’t speak poorly of him publicly or post pictures of their daughter on social media.

Now, even though Edwards’ reps have removed those stipulations, they are alleging that Howard has made new demands. According to a motion filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Howard’s new demands include a payment of $500,000 and a public apology from Edwards. The apology, she reportedly wants posted “on all of his official social media platforms, publicly retracting all false and defamatory or misleading statements made about her” during the court battle.

Howard also allegedly wants Edwards to “affirm her integrity and her role as a mother of their daughter.” The NBA player’s team is alleging that she will not sign the papers until her demands are met.

Ayesha Howard revealed that her request for $ 500,000 isn’t about custody at all.

In a statement to Us Weekly, Howard clarified her demands, saying, “I want to make it clear that my request for compensation was never tied to agreeing to any custody orders. I asked for compensation due to the substantial financial and reputational damages I’ve endured during this prolonged litigation with Anthony Edwards.”

This legal drama has been going on for a while. The situation began when Aubri was born, and Edwards demanded a paternity test to prove he was the father, making it clear he did not want to be the child’s father. Now, with Howard’s new demands, it seems this battle is far from over.
