The iconic gymnast conquered the meet with an all-around score of 59.500. Simone Biles also competed against Suni Lee and Gabby Douglas at the event.

In her first meet of the season, the illustrious 37-time world and Olympic medallist Simone Biles emerged victorious at the prestigious Core Hydration Classic.

The Hartford competition floor included eight medalists from world and Olympic championships, including Olympic all-around champions Suni Lee and Gabby Douglas.

The event marked the first time Lee, Douglas, and Biles competed simultaneously.

Gabby Douglas, who was considering trying out for a third Olympic squad, withdrew from the competition after having trouble with the uneven bars during the opening round.

She performed flawlessly in the warm-ups but stumbled twice in the competition, earning a 10.100.

Tokyo Olympics floor exercise gold medalist Jade Carey and team silver medalist Jordan Chiles, as well as Shilese Jones, Skye Blakely, Kayla DiCello, Joscelyn Roberson, Leanne Wong, and Lexi Zeiss, also competed.

As the current world champion on the balance beam, Biles opened the competition with a score of 14.550. She competed in the triple-twisting double salto, which bears her name, on the floor exercise for the first time since the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifying round. Biles’s performance of the Yurchenko double pike, another skill bearing her name, on the vault earned her the highest score of the evening, 15.600.

Her 14.550 on the uneven bars was a strong performance that earned her the all-around title.

In addition to taking home the title, Biles won silver in the uneven bars and balance beam events and a gold medal in the floor exercise.

Simone Biles will compete in her next meet at the U.S. Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, and then the U.S. Olympic Trials in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as she continues on her path to being selected for the Paris Olympics this summer.
